Irish Artists - The Dead Rabbit

When we started this print shop, our first goal was to take great photographs that we could be proud of. That is how all art should start - creating something for yourself. It means a lot of photographs that never see the light of day; it means many miles clocked up without anything to show for it. But that's all good - it's part of the process and is always an invaluable experience. When we put a photo print up for sale, it's something we would choose to display in our own house. It's art that makes us feel something.

Our second goal was for this art to find a home. Somewhere it could be displayed and evoke feelings for someone - maybe bring a little joy or a little longing. From the taking and processing of the image, to the packaging and posting, we're fully invested in every print we sell. We've taken so much pride in doing this; thinking of why a customer bought a specific print and imagining it in their home.

But not everything you do achieve with a new business is in the script. Sometimes wonderful and unexpected things happen. Last year, The Dead Rabbit bar in NYC ordered a number of our Ireland fine-art prints for display in their bar. We couldn't be more thrilled at the thought of our prints finding a home across the Atlantic.

The bar's owner, Jack McGarry, is a proud supporter of Irish art and culture. Maybe that's one of the reasons it's been so successful (voted the best bar in the world, twice) - they're authentic and passionate about Ireland and its people. They represent the modern, vibrant, confident Ireland that we are proud of.

Not only did The Dead Rabbit buy our art, they're actively supporting us and other contemporary Irish artists on their website. We've been introduced to so many Irish artists' wonderful work via the website of a bar that's 3000 miles away from Ireland. That's quite something.

So, if you're ever in NYC, call into this award winning bar for a pint of Guinness as good as you'll find at home, and check out the art that adorns the walls. And if New York is a little too far away, go to their website and check out some of the amazing artists that they've featured there. And a massive thank you to Jack and The Dead Rabbit for supporting our work!
